Ken Susskind formed GovConRx LLC to promote federal contract wellness, advance public-private partnerships, and foster mission success by providing proactive contract performance management solutions to federal government contractors. Ken is an innovative business development professional who has successfully produced $100 million+ results for corporations in the government contracting and commercial sectors. He brings over 35 years of experience and proven track record of successfully developing and maintaining strong contractor-government partnerships, building corporate and team capabilities, and maintaining solid customer relationships. Before forming GovConRx, Ken was a partner and Senior Vice President for over ten years at Evermay Consulting Group, an elite advisory firm that provided strategic acquisition guidance to private sector clients focusing on Homeland Security and other federal agency mission areas.
Ken professionally executes strategies to maximize corporate value and leverages his multi-disciplined management, marketing and legal skills in a business catalyst role. He leverages his broad experience with all aspects of government business development and applies his contracting and legal skills to negotiate contracts/subcontracts, teaming and vendor alliance agreements.
In 2008 Ken joined forces with Evermay Consulting Group’s founder, Greg Rothwell, the former first Chief Procurement Officer at Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As Senior Vice President, Ken and the Evermay team provided specialized advisory services firm providing GovCon clients with trusted procurement and acquisition, business development, capture and proposal support services at DHS, Treasury/IRS, and other select federal agencies. He successfully helped grow the company, expand business focus, and establish its unique brand in a competitive consulting business market.
Prior to Evermay Consulting Group, Ken was Vice President of Business Development at 3H Technology, a prominent and successful small business government contractor that he helped grow and be acquired by QinetiQ North America (QNA) for over $50 million. He implemented and managed complex multi-company team prime proposal and capture efforts on large government contract bids and tasking on programs totaling over $50 million at Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Treasury/IRS and GSA. An example is on the DHS agency-wide EAGLE contract where Ken spearheaded full-cycle opportunity development and capture phases resulting in unprecedented multiple Functional Category (FC) prime contract awards representing over $100 million in revenue. He also oversaw 3H’s Homeland Security and EAGLE program task order marketing, development, response and rapid capture activities where 3H maintained a premier position in EAGLE Task Order awards.
Ken performed similar corporate growth, business development and strategic alliance functions in previous positions including Director of Business Development and Sales at Verizon Communications Network Integration Solutions Group and at Metro Technologies, a start-up network integration firm that was later acquired by Verizon/Bell Atlantic for over $70 million. Prior to the acquisition, he implemented business development strategies that increased Metro’s company worth and grew annual revenue from $10 million to over $55 million and developed a customer base of over 150 entities in telecom, financial, and legal sectors.
Other professional roles included developing and managing joint venture relationships between high visibility program owners, investors and government entities at the Meneren Corporation, an international program management firm. Earlier in his career, Ken also founded and managed operations for Space Commerce International, a firm specializing in commercialization of space industry technology products/services. Ken was co-founder and partner in Financial Satellite Corporation, an international satellite services firm catering to the financial sector. He began his career as an attorney, providing specialized legal counsel at the Law Offices of Martin Rothblatt, an exclusive communications, satellite and space law firm in DC.
